Field Services Health, Safety & Environment Officer

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join us as the Field Services Health, Safety & Environment Officer.

Reporting to the HSE Director, you will oversee and ensure comprehensive safety measures for all personnel at 7 dedicated Customer Sites.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating, developing, and implementing safety procedures and relevant training initiatives aligned with Schneider Electric and for the Customer sites.

You will also organize and participate in safety audits and inspections, serve as the safety correspondent to the HSE Director and Business Manager, and escalate any identified hazardous situations.

In the event of an accident, you will lead investigations and establish corrective action plans, and spearhead the deployment of environmental plans and programs.

Responsibilities:

Safety Action:


* Promote a "Safety first" culture and educate the Field Service population on specific risks at the dedicated Customer Sites.


* Provide occupational health and safety training in conjunction with the dedicated Customer Sites.


* Identify, investigate risks, and recommend solutions.


* Ensure full employee awareness and preparation for safety topics by providing training and animating safety communication.


* Develop a culture of reporting accidents and near misses.


* Identify the proper safety tools and PPE required to work safely and coordinate with the Customer HSE programs.


* Perform safety audits and inspections regularly.


* Drive subcontractor prequalification compliance for contractors used on the Dedicated Customer Sites.


* Coordinate emergency response training with the Customer for employees at each site.

Safety Topic Animation:


* Ensure safety processes are integrated into the execution of all Schneider Electric business units on dedicated Customer Sites.


* Collect and report on Safety and Health data.


* Verify that site inspections and Field Service Representative Audits are occurring.

Qualifications and Skills:


* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in occupational safety preferred.


* 5-10 years of experience in Field Services safety, manufacturing, or Safety-sensitive environment.


* 5-10 years of managerial and/or leadership experience preferred.


* Construction Safety


* CRSP CRST, NCSO designations are considered assets and a must in some provinces.


* Proficiency in English; bilingual in French is an asset.


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.


* Ability to address multiple tasks proficiently and in a timely manner.


* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office platform.

Work Conditions:

Travel will be required between the Quebec City and Toronto locations.
