Lead Architect

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Align developed applications with current enterprise architecture standards, using Agile development methodology and working with application leads to change design patterns, modernize application implementation, and perform ongoing enterprise architecture governance in accordance with best practices.

Deliver on portfolio-wide models for application architecture and design.

Translate enterprise directions to application teams, succinctly explaining the impact to existing applications.

Draft hands-on proof of concepts (POCs) for emerging products and articulate their results.

Refactor applications against emerging technologies, maintaining application technical debt and promoting/increasing reuse.

Participate in modelling of portfolio architecture and design, including design reviews and NFR analysis.

Work to ensure appropriate usage of cloud/micro services and application design best practices.

Evangelize architecture team charter with multiple application teams and enterprise teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Architect (IT), Cloud Architect, Software Engineer/Application Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: software application architecture; software application design patterns; software application business processes; cloud design best practices; Microservices design best practices; application design best practices; AWS Cloud technologies; delivering portfolio-wide models using Agile development methods; and translating enterprise directions to application teams.

Job Location: 600 Travis Street, Houston, TX 77002.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
