Storekeeper - BH - Material Management

ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside's - Behavioral Health, Materials Management Department seeks to fill a Storekeeper position for their Riverside location.

Under general supervision, to be responsible for the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, materials, and equipment; to maintain and adjust stock levels; and to do other work as required.

Positions in this class are usually responsible for the receipt and storage of tools, supplies, and equipment listed in the department inventory.

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may also include related duties such as driving delivery vehicles.

Supervisory responsibility of this class is normally restricted to stock clerks, clerical personnel, or trusty labor.

Those positions that do not include supervisory responsibility are distinguished by greater independence in the storekeeping operations.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:



* Oversee and guide the work of Stock Clerks


* Manual labor (driving forklifts, box trucks, moving and storing inventory)


* Ensure tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner


* Assess current workflows and provide recommendations for improvement


* Document any performance issues for escalation to the supervisor

Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred, not required.

Work Schedule: This will be discussed during the interview.
Tentative: Monday - Friday, 5/40, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Plans and performs the work involved in the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, materials and equipment; directs the issuance and/or the delivery of requested stock; may operate forklift or other light equipment to move heavy items.

• Maintains inventory control records indicating quantity on hand, maximum and minimum stock levels, and usage dates; requisitions and receives needed supplies; takes periodic physical inventories and reconciles stock on hand with perpetual inventory records.

• Inspects deliveries for damaged supplies or discrepancies in quantity, size, type, and terms of the purchase orders; fills requisitions and assembles for delivery; may purchase items from suppliers on open purchase orders; assists with the delivery of supplies and equipment when required.

• Supervise the work of stock clerks, intermediate clerical personnel, or trusty labor; instruct on the proper way to store and issue supplies.

• Perform auxiliary clerical duties in addition to storekeeper duties; maintain adequate records on all forms and supplies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Two years of experience in receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials.

Knowledge of: Storekeeping methods and procedures; stock control and perpetual inventory procedures; safety issues related to the physical handling of supplies and materials.
