ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside's Registrar of Voters is recruiting for an Elections Coordinator to support the Operations Division.

PLEASE NOTE: The position requires full-time office presence for four months leading up to and during elections due to the high workload.

The role involves working weekends and holidays, including mandatory overtime during election and post-election periods.

Travel within the county is also necessary.

Outside of election season, employees may choose from a 4/10, 9/80, or 5/40 workweek schedule, with the option of a hybrid schedule with mandatory Wednesdays in office.

Flexibility working overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.

This position may require travel throughout the county as needed by the department.

Work requires extreme attention to detail, considerable accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The Election Coordinator will oversee staff training and recruitment, manage the Vote by Mail program, handle contracts and logistics for election supplies, and ensure compliance with election codes.

Key duties include supervising election officers, coordinating voter center operations, managing traffic control, and overseeing the preparation and distribution of election materials.

Most competitive candidates will have experience in leadership or supervision, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including spreadsheet reports and queries), Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

Additionally, they should possess excellent written communication skills.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES


* Training and Recruitment : Manage the training and recruitment unit for the Lead Program (temporary election officers) and Election Officer Program (1500+election volunteers)Oversee the recruitment process for vote center drop-off and equipment.


* Election Officer Program: Supervise the recruitment, training, and oversight of 1500+ Temporary Election Personnel ( + TAP employees ).

Coordinate with the Assistant.


* Vote Center and Voter By Mail Locations: Handle the selection and contracting of facilities for vote centers and vote-by-mail locations, ensuring compliance with ADA requirements.


* Inventory Management: Oversee election supplies and services.

Manage warehouse operations, including the preparation, assembly, ordering, and inventory of election materials.


* Regulatory Compliance: Research and analyze election codes and relevant regulations.
