The Senior Director of Finance and Accounting is a new position at The Armstrong Company.

The person selected for this role will be responsible for assisting with all financial and finance-related ERP/technology practices; will play a role in strategic planning (assessing business needs and opportunities for growth) and in strategic transactions; will support multiple businesses with financial planning and guidance; and will develop banking relationships for corporate banking and financing M&A transactions.

The remaining time will be spent on department process creation and improvement, and will be encouraged ask questions, learn the business holistically and have the autonomy and drive to get things done. 

Lastly, the individual will need to be able to be to understand and (at times) operate within the details, but be able to elevate, review, and operate at a strategic, high-level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:


* Oversee the collection, preparation, and analysis of accounting records and financials.


* Provide oversight and input of all finance and accounting activities relating to forecasting, treasury, fixed assets, and other areas identified.


* Serve a key financial contact for select business units.


* Assist with the continued evaluation of the finance an accounting department structure and staffing 


* Assist with the mentoring and development of talent to support continued growth of the company.


* Procure and manage banking relationships – both for corporate banking and transactional (M&A, real estate) needs


* Continually improve budgeting and financial reporting practices. 


* Advise on short and long-term financial planning, in conjunction with other strategic planning, to better prepare the company for growth.


* Assist with the management of all aspects of global cash flow.


* Develop cash flow, capital expenditures, cost accounting, and other models to support business decisions.
