Program Coordinator I - Public Health - Nutrition

ABOUT THE POSITION

Riverside University Health System - Department of Public Health seeks candidates for Program Coordinator I positions with the Nutrition Department.

The immediate opening is with the Cardio-Vascular Health (CVH) grant program and the other will be for Community Outreach and Social Media.

Program Descriptions:
CVH -Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities for the CDC Cardio-Vascular Health grant; oversee CVH meetings, oversee Health Education Assistant (HEA) II staff to implement specialty projects related to cardiovascular health; ensure program goals and objectives are met.
Community Outreach and Social Media -Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities for the department branch's community outreach; oversee community outreach, marketing, and communication plans for each branch program, design and implement social media and advertising, etc., coordinate and collaborate with HEA staff to implement specialty projects and social media marketing efforts; ensure program goals and objectives are met.

The most competitive candidates will have previous professional experience with and knowledge of the following:

* Social media technology and outreach


* Project/Grants management

Work Schedule:
9/80, with every other Friday off (or 5/40 is an option)
Hours: varied because some weekends and evenings may be required.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Establish program goals and objectives and determine priorities; provide supervision, technical assistance, and consultation to program staff.
•Interpret and implement state and federal program mandates; establish and interpret program policy; monitor and evaluate program activities and budget expenditures; collect and analyze statistical data.
•Develop and implement processes to complete grant /funding applications and all required documentation; determine expenditure eligibility for program funding.
•May supervise staff in the preparation of case records, the determination of financial eligibility, the encumbrance of accounts, and the preparation of required reports.
•Serve as liaison with funding authority and departmental fiscal unit regarding program financial issues.
•Prepare annual and quarterly reports; meet with interested community organizations to promote program goals.
•Represent the department at meetings with local, state, and federal program representatives; prepare a variety of reports, records, and correspondence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in health education, nutrition, healthcare or hospital administration, public health, business or public administration, health science, communication/journalism, zoology, early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field.
