Production Graphics Specialist

Primary Purpose of the Role

The Production Graphics Specialist helps our Art and Production Teams ensure our client artwork is received and print-ready.

This involves ensuring all custom graphics will translate well to our various print mediums and are compatible with our printing methods (offset print, flexographic print).

This may require editing graphics using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

In addition to these pre-press functions, this position also assists in our marketing efforts by supporting our Sales Team with design of marketing materials (agendas, handouts, graphics for presentations, etc.).

Essential Job Duties


* Receive and verify all custom art from customers is production ready



* Edit and create custom art that translates well to porous print medium



* Work closely with the Art Department Team as a cross-trained backup in other functions including printing plate creation



* Monitor and coordinate the submission of custom art and proofs to customers



* Work closely with the Customer Service and Sales Teams on setup of custom items into our production system



* Assist the Sales Team in marketing efforts by creating and editing marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, presentations, agendas, etc.)

Required Skills and Abilities


* Knowledge of general office technology/computers



* Knowledge of computer programs, including MS Office and ERP/CRM systems



* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cuite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)



* Knowledge of printing methods (offset press and flexographic)



* Skill in graphic design



* Skill in organization, attention to detail, and time management



* Skill in oral and written communication



* Skill in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making



* Skill in building and maintaining internal and external relationships



* Ability to flexible, self-directed, and motivated to improve processes



* Ability to be patient and adaptable to unforeseen changes



* Ability to prioritize rapidly while utilizing problem solving skills



* Ability to maintain records, review document for accuracy, and organize, document, and track documents



* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and company management


* Preferred Additional related studies or certifications preferred (Art, Graphic Design, Marketing, etc.)


* 2 e xperience in a graphic design / pre-press role in a printing / publishing environment
