Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: Performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks involving general maintenance of Birmingham facilities and grounds.

Duties/Responsibilities:
List the essential job duties that are specific to the position.

·        Replacing light bulbs and fluorescent lights

·        Making simple electrical related repairs

·        Power washing and interior/exterior painting projects

·        Perform routine carpentry work (example: minor paint jobs, installing interior doors, door stops, adjustable shelving, etc.)

.        Repair basic plumbing issues (faucets, water leaks, toilet repair)

.        Hanging signs, pictures, posters (interior and exterior)

.        Minor fence and gate repair

.        Basic Shop equipment repair (air lines, overhead door repair, etc)

·        Making minor ground and lot repairs and maintenance

·        Maintenance and cleaning of customer areas

.        Manage and maintain the safe operation of scissor lift and other maintenance equipment

·        Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Years of Experience Required: 1 to 3 years

Other Years:

Experience required in:  Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to (1 - 3 years) construction or facility maintenance trades experience.
