Fire Protection - Pineland Lumber

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for a Fire Protection worker at our lumber mill in Pineland, Texas.

Compensation: To commensurate with experience.

The Fire Protection role will operate as a function of maintenance working in conjunction with the Fire Protection Technician.

The Experience You Will Bring (Requirements):

• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, production, warehouse, farming, or military environment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in a Fire Watch or similar role.

What You Will Do In Your Role (Responsibilities include but are not limited to):


* Ensure safe work practices and adhere to fire regulations of the facility.


* Inspect and maintain site fire/sprinkler systems and firefighting equipment.


* Perform safety audits and follows up on corrective actions.


* Perform routine sampling and checks for the plant's compliance programs.


* Provide support to management and employees.


* Actively participate in the Safety program to improve processes as well as adhere to safety rules and regulations including the wearing of proper PPE.


* Department Clean up as needed.

Other Considerations


* Available for call on a 24-hour a day basis for plant fire system-related problems.


* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.


* Provide support to management and employees.


* Actively participate in the Safety program to improve processes as well as adhere to safety rules and regulations including the wearing of proper PPE.


* Participate in clean-up duties to ensure a clean and safe environment.


* Flexibility to flow to the work as needed (Utility, Firewatch, Clean-up, etc.).


* Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.


* Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.
