Lead Accountant

Land O'Lakes is searching for a Lead Accountant for its wholly owned subsidiary, Curious Plot advertising agency.

This position requires a flexible individual who is results-oriented and has excellent communication and analytical skills.

You'll be responsible for building a strong business partnership to manage the accounting and finance activities of the business.

This role is a hybrid work arrangement each week and will working between the Curious Plot offices in downtown Minneapolis and our Arden Hills corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities include:


* Analyze and communicate financial results with Curious Plot executive leadership (CEO/VP Finance) on a consistent basis; provide variance analysis and budget details to Land O'Lakes on a monthly basis.


* Oversee the accounting and billing processes for the agency, which includes: establishing timelines for deliverables; preparing and reviewing journal entries; reviewing account reconciliations; and providing management reporting.


* Team with business and technology partners to improve efficiencies and improve the control environment, specifically related to the accounting for revenue, unbilled revenue and receivables.

Own maintenance of internal control documentation.


* Partner with Curious Plot leadership to prepare the long-range plan and forecast for the business.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related; CPA desired


* 3-5 years of relevant/related work experience


* Microsoft office experience including advanced excel and knowledge of ERP systems

* Self-starter with an ability to work independently, while also effectively communicating with business partners.


* Strong process design, system understanding and project implementation skills


* Ability to understand complex transactions in the general ledger


* Strong analytical skills to assess variances and trends and ability to summarize information for management review


* Attention to detail and accuracy
