Business Development Manager, Corrugated Packaging

Georgia-Pacific's Corrugated Packaging division is looking for a Business Development Manager to support our corrugated packaging business in the Mid-South market to support our box facilities in Huntsville, AL and Cleveland, TN primarily as well as our sister box facilities across the GP Corrugated organization.

A successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for sustained and profitable sales growth in the industrial, consumer goods, or manufacturing corrugated market with a focus on new business, best in class service, value creation as well as robust market awareness.

The Business Development Manager reports to the Area Sales Manager.

Candidate Location : We are seeking a candidate ideally in the following locations: Huntsville, AL, Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Knoxville, TN, Cleveland, TN or Dalton, GA.

Geography is valuable to be in a reasonable proximity to our Cleveland, TN and/or Huntsville, AL facility .

This is a home-based position with up to 50% field travel in this position and with visits to prospects, customers, and GP plant facilities for team collaboration.

Compensation: This position comes with a transitional salary structure.

Our compensation package includes a guaranteed base salary along with variable components.

As you progress, there is an opportunity to transition to an uncapped full commission structure, where your contributions and performance are rewarded accordingly.

What You Will Do


* Manage your territory with an entrepreneurial mindset and focus on growing your sales pipeline.


* Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various sources, including cold calls, networking, and marketing leads.


* Understand customer needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions using our corrugated product offerings.


* Conduct analysis of customer and market needs, pricing models, and manufacturing input to inform your sales strategies.


* Proactively manage customer projects, ensuring customer needs are understood and met.

This includes championing product development activities, conducting plant trials, press checks, and promptly responding to customer requests.
