Integrity Engineer / Mapping Expert

Overview

Hybrid role that supports integrity engineering team and customers through data analysis, data science and ILI integrity engineering.

Responsibilities

Supports customers and team projects through technical expertise in the following:

Internal mapping products


* Experience with software used to generate GPS coordinates from ILI IMU data.


* Experience with software used to deliver bending strain and line movement analysis reporting.


* Knowledge of small software utilities that enable the mapping analysis process.


* Required skills: Python programming, C++ programming, understanding of IMUs and their specifications, inertial navigation basics, signal processing and smoothing, understanding of how ILI tool bodies are supported, ILI tool design impacts to overall mapping data quality.

External mapping products


* Experience creating bending strain reports.


* Experience creating line movement reports.


* Required skills: Understanding of pipeline integrity threats associated with bending strain, line movement and geohazards; basic understanding of pipeline construction techniques; customer requirements about strain reporting; strain and line movement interpretation guidelines; tailoring reporting outputs to match customer requirements; review and QA check of other Data Analysis work; ability to present integrity results to customers.

Experience


* Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related field or significant industry experience


* 3-5 years of experience in pipeline engineering, pipeline integrity/ILI/services or similar industry experience


* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


* Level II/III data analyst in any inline inspection technology preferred


* Knowledge of pipeline codes and regulations preferred.


* Good customer service skills


* Flexible and adaptable (willing to work on other technical problems as needed)


* Proficient in MS Office
