ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are searching for a Senior Sourcing Manager within Greif’s Global Supply Chain group, to drive the strategic direction of steel sourcing across EMEA.

The role can be based near one of our EMEA locations and, particularly in the first 6-12 months, will need travel to our sites to learn about factories and build an internal network and relationships.

ROLE DETAILS:

Reporting to Greif’s Senior Director of Global Sourcing, we are looking for someone who can implement a plan that balances both local and regional trends, through their understanding of the steel MEPS index.

Our role would suit an analytical person who is decisive and eager to make a difference to the organisation.

TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


* Evaluate, Drive and implement new cost reduction opportunities including action plans.


* Support of the Global Sr.

Director Sourcing for Steel, Utilities and Operation Equipment as well as the Global Supply Chain team.


* Source all strategic Stell and Steel Component demand in EMEA and define the overall sourcing strategy including multiyear sourcing roadmap for strategic suppliers.


* Working closely with a leading team of technicians, with the goal to reduce cost, increase efficiency and reduce Greif´s CO2 footprint.


* Liaise with Engineering and Project Teams to develop the sourcing strategy for Steel and Steel Components.

Drive, support the make or buy process.


* Collate Specifications, Technical and Quality requirements and produce detailed RFQ for formal issue to the Supply Chain.


* Develop and implement standard tendering documentation, research and evaluate suppliers and negotiate terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Able to demonstrate significant category management and sourcing experience.


* Able to demonstrate steel market knowledge in relation to manufacturing, to be the expert for Greif on buying and material trends.


* A hunger to drive cost reduction and process efficiency improvements.


* Able to demonstrate agility in adapting to business changes.


* Able to influence others as part of a change management expertise.
