Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

What are we looking for?

The Chief Engineer - Construction Materials Testing is responsible for interpreting, organizing, coordinating, and executing assignments related to field and laboratory testing, special inspections, and project oversight.

This leadership role requires making independent decisions on technical problems, mentoring and training staff, and maintaining client relationships.

This position may travel at least 25% of the time.

Shift/Schedule: Core business hours, 8am-5pm

What you'll do:


* Provide technical leadership in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections


* Perform independent evaluations using standard techniques and engineering judgment


* Make decisions and recommendations based on test results, field observations, and project requirements


* Review and sign off on technical reports, lab results, and inspection findings


* Develop and oversee QA/QC procedures for materials testing and inspection


* Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to inspectors, technicians, and junior engineers


* Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for task assignments


* Maintain and develop client relationships, attending site meetings and representing Intertek with clients, regulatory agencies, and design professionals


* Ability to provide expert testimony or forensic analysis as needed


* Ensure compliance with safety practices and company policies

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field


* PE (Professional Engineer) License


* 15+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections
