This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

• Participate in industry standards, technical conferences, and other forums to influence the industry to align with HPE priorities.
• Research and Evaluate emerging drive and storage technologies and industry trends to gain a comprehensive understanding of the market and technologies.
• Serve as a trusted SME for customers, Product and Senior Management, Cross-BU technical leaders, and other stakeholders within the company
• Engage with suppliers to influence their long term roadmap to align with HPE priorities.
• Work closely with platform firmware, hardware, and storage controller R&D teams to influence system architecture and design to be optimized for drives and storage.
• Track and influence industry storage trends and how they may interact with other technologies, e.g., storage controllers, CXL, GPUs.

Education and Experience:•

• BSEE or equivalent (minimum)
• Minimum 7 years experience in the server storage or storage industry
• Experience with server and storage architecture, HDDs and SSDs, EDSFF, SED and FIPS, storage protocols (SAS/SATA/NVMe)
• Excellent communication skills with small and large groups, senior management, and external partners.
• Must be able to think strategically about the big picture while also knowing technical details
• Understanding of internal drive architecture (NAND, controllers, magnetic media, heads, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience capturing protocol traces is a plus.
