Director of Software Engineering

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.

Provide leadership and oversight for strategic execution of technology organization initiatives.

Deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.

Responsible for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.

Oversee governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.

Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.

Responsible for managing, recruiting and retaining a team of software engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering Lead, Sr or Vice President Software Engineer/Developer, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering Lead, Sr or Vice President Software Engineer/Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: JavaScript; TypeScript; Redux; Redux Saga; NextJS; React Native; GraphQL; NodeJS; SQL; MongoDB; PostgreSQL; FastAPI; Python; React front end software engineering frameworks; React Testing Library; Cypress; Puppeteer; building software and technology solutions and large applications with microservice architecture deployed to cloud services such as AWS; managing a team of software engineers including hiring, coaching, mentoring, upleveling, and retaining.

Full time telecommuting/remote work permitted from any location within the U.S.

Full-Time.

Salary: $215,000 - $285,000 per year.
