Position Summary:
Provides direction and project management related to construction to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Typically manages minor, less complex projects; Responsible for the daily administration of project and/or company policies and processes in order for the projects team to meet business objectives; Adapts to organizational plans in order to set direction for work teams; Requires broad knowledge of at least one technical/functional; Participates in solving difficult technical issues requiring a broad knowledge related to technical/functional responsibilities; Solutions are derived from available resources provided internally through senior leaders and established policies and procedures.
• Makes independent decisions and recommendations for large independent projects and/or several small independent projects.
Recommendations reviewed for soundness of judgment but usually accepted as technically accurate and feasible.
Decisions involve financial, social, environmental, and organizational impact within the company and externally.
• Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance.
Broad duties assigned at beginning of projects.
Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities, and critical areas that impinge on work of other units.
Work is reviewed to ensure [roject, policy conformity and soundness of approach.
Informed guidance is available.
• Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to staff assigned to work on small projects.
May have direct reports and may have authority for performance evaluations impacting pay.
Effectively communicate to staff and construction project team.
Strong ability to Inform and persuade on complex matters through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations and reports, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management.
Qualifications:
• University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Typically 7+ years experience, developing project management experience.
Strong understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field.
Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
