Ils sont complexes à dimensionner et à piloter, notamment en raison de la forte dépendance entre la conception de l'installation (e.g., choix de la taille de batterie, des convertisseurs) et la gestion optimale des flux de puissance entre les parties AC et DC ainsi que l'efficacité globale dans les installations, sous contrainte de coøt d'investissement des solutions.
