General Description: Under the supervision of the Production Manager or Supervisor, performs all the functions of the Line Personnel as instructed by the Production Manager or Area Supervisor; or when either of them is not present gives directions to production personnel in order to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the production lines.
Responsible for quality work.
Duties
· Direct and train all production line personnel.
· Proper communication of supervisor expectations to line personnel
· Ensure proper reliability reporting.
· Identify product quality problems and initiate corrective action.
· Coordinate changeover process and verify all components staged on line.
· Coordinate components for line
· Maintain cleaning supply inventory for designated area; Assist line crew with cleaning.
· Provide assistance running through breaks and lunches.
· De-stage line when changing over.
· Notify supervisor of any problems that might or do result in “Hold” material.
· Identify, analyze, and correct production rate barriers.
· Spotting defects and inconsistencies in groups of items
· Follow Safety/GMP guidelines.
· Ensure quality checks and sheets are completed.
· Verify can, carton/can code for batch record as applicable.
· Complete or assist in the completion of control charts for fill weights, concentrate and perfume for batch records.
· Handle batch change paperwork while still running the line.
· Does not have authority to hire, fire, or issue disciplines.
· Ensure all metric documentation and reporting (written or electronic) is completed accurately in a timely manner.
· Attend daily GEMBA walks and ensure GEMBA updates are added to board and reported out in a timely manner.
· Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties: In addition to the Duties listed, qualifications may include physical requirements, additional education or certification as deemed necessary for the safe and successful performance of the job.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing division is currently searching for Operator I’s at our Ashland, Ohio facility. This position starts up, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely and routinely while achieving or exceeding standard levels of scrap, timing and output rate a majority of the time in one of the manufacturing areas listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
* Produce product according to tolerances on blueprints.
* Perform routine measurements per quality standards.
* Read and interpret extrusion instructions.
* Maintain accurate paperwork.
* Correctly package and label products.
* Perform daily housekeeping duties: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas.
* Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
* Setup and operate various off-line and secondary equipment to include cutters, tape machines, punch press, hot box, and reeling machine.
EXPERIENCE:

* Leverage Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and operational expense reduction leveraging Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, GEMBA, 5S, and other appropriate process improvement tools and methodologies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Experience working with Excel, Minitab, or other analytic software drive data driven decisions and measurable improvements.
