Job Duties and Responsibilities As a Pharmacist PRN, you perform critical functions that safeguard patient health and uphold pharmacy excellence.
You: Dispenses medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.Counsels patients on medication use, potential side effects, and adherence, promoting understanding and compliance.Verifies prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness, identifying and resolving potential issues.Conducts Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) to evaluate medication appropriateness, detect potential adverse drug reactions, and optimize therapy.Applies principles of Pharmacotherapy to assess patient needs and recommend evidence-based medication regimens.Ensures strict adherence to all federal, state, and local Pharmacy Law and regulations.Provides accurate and timely Drug Information to healthcare professionals and patients.Utilizes Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems effectively for documentation, order entry, and patient information retrieval.Prepares Sterile Compounding products safely and precisely, following established protocols and aseptic techniques.Administers Immunization to patients as authorized and trained, contributing to public health initiatives.Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans.Maintains accurate inventory control and manages medication stock to prevent shortages or waste.Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of pharmacy policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications Education Possesses a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Experience Holds an active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice.Demonstrates at least one year of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting.
