About the Role
NDT Technicians tests the safety of composite wind blades using x-ray, ultrasound, fiber optic or related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
* Interpret the results of non-destructive testing (NDT) thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, and visual testing.
* Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
* Examine structures such as wind blades or vehicles such as buses, using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
* Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques.
* Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
* Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.
* Visually examine materials, structures, or components using tools and equipment such as endoscopes, closed circuit television systems, and fiber optics for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws.
* Map the presence of indications within objects using ultrasonic signals.
* Develop or use new non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as infrared testing, shearography etc.

* High school diploma and 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

If you are a Technician with experience in Automation, Robotics, Electronics, and Mechanical Design looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting role for you! Based in our Emerson Chanhassen location, you will utilize your knowledge to enable and drive process automation in a manufacturing environment.
This role will primarily work in a shop environment with Manufacturing Engineers and Production personnel individually or as part of a team to improve, design, build, and/or integrate automated equipment and systems to support production.
This role will support the Pressure Sub Assembly Manufacturing groups.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Understanding and following safety requirements for equipment design, troubleshooting, and operation.
* Leading design, build, and implementation of custom automated manufacturing equipment.
* Collaborating with other companies and experts as a team member or as a project lead on external equipment build projects.
* Supporting and leading existing equipment upgrades and support projects using advanced skills in PLC’s, HMI’s, Robotics, Pneumatics, and Electronic components.
* Demonstrating knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and basic PC use.
