Civil/Structural Lead Designer - Primoris Engineering

Primoris Engineering is seeking a Lead Civil/Structural Designer to become an integral part of our Houston-based team.

If you're ready to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact, come design the future with us at Primoris!  Successful candidates will have experience with the latest civil and structural Autodesk design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and CADWorx Structure Hexagon PPM, and be familiar with 2D/3D CAD fundamentals.  This is an in-office position located in our engineering office in Houston, Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities:


* Overseeing the work of Senior Designers and CAD Designers while also actively contributing to project deliverables.


* Ensuring that project timelines and budgets are met while maintaining high-quality standards for all deliverables.


* Coordinating design activities, providing guidance and mentorship to the design team, and effectively delegating tasks to ensure efficient workflow and collaboration.


* Maintaining consistent quality, organization, and adherence to company standards across the design team.


* Overseeing the creation of detailed drawings and models as well as contributing to the drafting and modeling process as needed.


* Assisting with project estimation, including manhour and deliverable estimates.


* Serving as a point of contact for design and drafting-related queries.


* Playing a pivotal role in the success of the design team and overall project execution.


* Overseeing the development of 2D and 3D drawings and models for structural systems using AutoCAD, Cadworx Structure, and Civil 3D.


* Maintaining consistency in design quality, ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications and standards.


* Working with Senior Designers and CAD Designers to ensure deliverables align with project goals and deliverables.


* Ensuring all design tasks are completed on schedule and within budget, working with the design team to manage workloads and deadlines.


* Working with external vendors to ensure all drawings align with equipment and technical documentation.


* Performing quality checks on drawings and models to ensure they adhere to company standards and meet client requirements. 


* Addressing any discrepancies or issues in design documents and ensure resolution. 


* Delegating drafting and modeling tasks to Senior Designers and CAD Designers, ensuring appropriate workload distribution and efficiency.


* Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to Senior Designers and CAD Designers, helping to develop their skills and promote career growth.


* Overseeing and coordinating the work of Senior Designers and CAD Designers to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with project requirements.
