Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts.
As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.
DESCRIPTION
The Construction Inspector will work on facilities, highway, bridge, railroad and utility infrastructure construction projects primarily in Connecticut and possibly in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
The Construction Inspector will be required to perform contract administration, construction management and inspection operations onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform on-site construction inspection, quantity measurement/calculation, and field report documentation.
* Assist with managing Michael Baker subconsultants' and third-party construction inspection project staff.
* Ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with approved construction documents and permits.
* Adhere to Michael Baker's and client's policies/procedures and maintain client satisfaction.
* Work under the supervision of Michael Baker's Construction Services Lead.
* Coordinate with clients, stakeholders and contractors on various construction projects in New England.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Engineering.
* 6 - 10+ years of construction inspection experience.
* NICET II Certification or higher level or ability to obtain based on comparable certifications.
* OSHA 10hr Certification or ability to obtain.
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
* Knowledge of CTDOT construction policies and procedures.
* Excellent English language skills, written and verbal.
* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) etc.
* Basic knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques is preferred.
* Experience working within Amtrak & Metro-North railroads is preferred.

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking a Drainage Engineer to join our transportation team in Orlando! The successful candidate will be involved with a variety of transportation drainage projects and tasks including:
* Responsible, with the support of a technical mentor, for planning, design development, calculations, and presentations to support the drainage design discipline.
* Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to the management and conveyance of stormwater systems.
* Participate in the preparation, oversight, and review of construction plans.
* Prepare written reports, technical memoranda, and permit applications.
* Attend conferences and technical workshops to study the industry's new and innovative solutions and technologies.
* Assist with technical marketing during the procurement of key projects.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* 6+ years of transportation drainage and/or stormwater-related design experience
* Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
* Professional Engineering License in FL, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
* Experience with design of stormwater management systems including retention and detention ponds with ICPR or similar software packages.
* Experience with design of open and closed conveyance systems including the application of design software.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop design reports and permit applications.
* The ability and attitude to work effectively in a team environment
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $82,260 to $135,718.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
