JOB SUMMARY:
The Excel Center is the first Free in-person High School for adult learners 22 years of age and older in Colorado who have not earned a High School diploma.
The Specialist I, Post Graduation Support, will work under the direction of the College and Career Readiness Supervisor.
The Post-Graduation Support Specialist will track graduates’ post-graduation activities to determine success levels of former students.
This position will contribute to the overall achievement of school-wide goals around graduation outcomes, enrollment needs, student achievement, retention, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Senior Seminar/Graduate Support:
* Conducts one-on-one follow-up in person, by phone or by email with graduates to continually monitor their efforts, measure progress on their action plan, and provide accountability for up to a year post-graduation.
Drafts success stories from students.
Tracks all student progress for reporting purposes.
* Meets with Senior Seminar students one-on-one to create and implement clear post-graduate action plans, support with job or academic applications, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other financial aid applications pre-graduation.
* Utilizes coaching strategies to build rapport with students to influence decision-making.
* Teaches occasional segments of Senior Seminar as it pertains to post-secondary success.
* Collaborates with Student Advocates and College and Career Readiness Coordinator to support holistic academic and pathway plans for students 2-3 terms away from graduation.
* Works with the College and Career Readiness Coordinator to identify dual enrollment and employment opportunities that will allow students a higher earning potential upon graduation, with focus on providers that are on the approved Colorado Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) and Career Development Incentive Program (CDIP) lists as per Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requirements that can be completed within Excel Center term constraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

* Diagnose & repair refrigerated container systems using specialized tools and meters as well as hand & power tools.
* Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and calibration of units.
* Perform brazing and soldering of both copper and brass components in the refrigeration system using oxy/acetylene torch.
* Diagnose and repair both high and low voltage electrical circuits using wiring diagrams and schematics.
* Upload software and download information from the units’ microprocessor and for generating repair orders and parts inventory in fleet maintenance program.
* Work with Shop Lead and Department Manager in maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts, materials, and tooling. Work with Purchasing Department in requisitioning items in the absence of Shop Lead and/or Department Manager.
* Learn and properly use the manufacturer’s service software with electronic equipment.
* Record daily repairs in M&R maintenance software.
* Own basic hand tools common to the trade and specifically an electrical meter, and be willing and able to acquire additional tooling as the position requires. Must be able to properly use and maintain company supplied tooling
* Able to meet forklift certification requirements.
* Ability and willingness to travel to Alaska two or more times a year as required for varied lengths of time.
* Attend and maintain required training.
