General Purpose
The Occupational Therapist evaluates residents, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides therapeutic interventions to improve independence with daily living skills, mobility, safety, and overall functional performance.
Essential Duties
* Evaluate residents and determine occupational therapy needs and rehabilitation potential
* Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans
* Provide therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, strength, coordination, balance, cognition, and safety
* Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families regarding progress and goals
* Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences
* Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
* Educate residents and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and fall prevention
* Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote independence
* Supervise COTAs and therapy aides as appropriate
* Maintain a safe treatment environment and follow infection control procedures
Qualifications
Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
* Master's or Doctorate preferred
License:
* Current California Occupational Therapy license in good standing
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Casamba and PointClickCare
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
