The Melt Supervisor will conduct themselves with enthusiasm and integrity to direct all activities in the iron melting department (and off-shift Maintenance & Core employees) while maintaining and enforcing the safety program.
Schedule: 3rd shift (typically schedule is Sunday evening to Friday morning)
In this Role, your Responsibilities Will Be:
SAFETY
* Promote a safe workplace for yourself and your fellow employees
* Ensure all the department safety rules are being followed
* SQDC tracking of all open safety issues along with weekly updates to senior management.
* Monthly OSHA safety training with employees.
TECHNICAL
* Manage the daily repair of ladles and melt furnaces.
Check operation and condition of equipment.
* Provide sufficient melted iron, within specification for chemistry, to run the Disa for two shifts.
* Schedule and oversee the ABB furnace repairs.
* Ensure that Tier-3 Work Instructions are adequate and up to date.
* Ensures proper quality system controls are adhered to for any changes of processes, materials, and suppliers.
* Maintain a proper raw material inventory.
LEADERSHIP
* Direct management of the Melt department employees (3rd shift includes core and maintenance)
* Hold weekly (at minimum) Safety Huddles + communication toolbox meetings with employees to cover all relevant SQDC topics.
* Responsible for training, mentoring and coaching employees. Engage your operators for creating problem solving.
* Monitor furnaces on weekends per schedule.

* Melt experience in the foundry industry

Assembly Supervisor responsibilities:
* Assign and communicate workload to all warehouse employees
