Emerging Technologies CO-OP

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:


* Work with the Emerging Technologies team to develop and validate new thermal energy storage, heat rejection, heat transfer technologies, water monitoring and treatment, carbon capture, and/or related technologies


* Design and assemble small and/or medium scale test modules


* Design and run small and/or medium scale performance and reliability testing equipment and procedures


* Support development of numerical performance modeling tools based on the available data sets


* Identify and qualify alternative design and materials of construction options


* Support technology scale-up activities (e.g.

product concept development, cost modeling…)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


* Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or Materials preferred)


* Seniors or MS students preferred


* Experience with 2D and 3D CAD required; experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required


* Hands-on machining experience required


* Working knowledge of design of experiments principles


* Working knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and fluid dynamics


* Working knowledge of data acquisition equipment setup an operation


* Proficient in Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred

 

INFORMATION


* Status: Full-time, Temporary (6 months)


* Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM


* Paid Co-Op


* Dates: January/February 2027 – July/August 2027


* Requirements: Reliable transportation to BAC Corporate Office every day


* Misc: Housing is not provided


* Location: BAC Corporate Office located at 7600 Dorsey Run Road, Jessup, MD 20794

 

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $22 - $28 per hour. 

BAC provides additional earnings in the form of overtime as applicable under law.
