Range Operator (RO)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Range Operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the TYR Tactical shooting range.

This position ensures compliance with range safety procedures, maintains equipment and facilities, and supports ballistic testing and other operational activities.

The Range Operator also assists with departmental projects and provides general operational support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor range activities to ensure compliance with established safety procedures and operational requirements.Prepare and maintain the shooting range, equipment, and materials for daily operations and ballistic testing.Assist with the setup, execution, and completion of ballistic testing activities.Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot range equipment, reporting maintenance needs or safety concerns as appropriate.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized range environment in accordance with established housekeeping and safety standards.Monitor inventory levels of range supplies, ammunition, targets, and other materials, and coordinate replenishment as needed.Provide basic firearms and range safety guidance to authorized personnel as appropriate.Support firearm-related transactions and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures, as authorized.Assist the Hard Armor, R&D, and other departments with testing, production, and special projects as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Range Manager.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/ FUNCTIONAL SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES: Working knowledge of firearms handling and range safety practices.Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with team members.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
