Mental Health Dietary Manager

Position Summary:

The Dietary Manager (DM) is a vital part of our mental health team.

They are responsible for overseeing all dietary services and interact with our patients.

The DM is responsible for consulting in a collaborative fashion with the Registered Dietitian to ensure the best standard of nutrition and dietary services are achieved.

The DM is responsible for managing the diet techs, grocery inventory and ordering, helping problem solve mealtime issues, and managing menu planning and group cook.

Essential Job Functions:


* Oversee all food service operations such as inventory, ordering, receiving, food service, food budget


* Training new diet techs and other dietary staff


* Provide quarterly trainings via kitchen in-services for all staff


* Analyzing food service providers to ensure quality products at cost effective prices


* Remain in compliance with Department of Health, Joint Commission Accreditation standards


* Collaborate regularly with Registered Dietitian on specific dietary needs of patients


* May be required to travel to other facilities to provide dietary trainings

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:


* Bachelor's Degree with appropriate emphasis, preferred


* Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), preferred


* Minimum 1 year of experience working in health care or residential care


* Minimum 2 years of experience in food service management


* Preferred experience in mental health and/or eating disorder treatment

Employment Status: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
Work Location: On-site - Crownsville, MD
Compensation: Pay Range: $25.00-32.00 per hour
