Substitute Teacher

Hargrave Military Academy is seeking dependable substitute teachers to provide classroom coverage when faculty members are absent.

Substitute teachers help cadets stay on track by following prepared lesson plans, maintaining classroom routines, and creating a respectful learning environment.

Assignments may vary by grade level and subject.

Responsibilities Follow the classroom teachers lesson plans and help cadets complete assigned work.

Take attendance, supervise cadets, and uphold Hargraves expectations for classroom conduct.

Adapt to different subjects, grade levels, and classroom routines.

Leave a brief update for the returning teacher on work completed and any concerns that need follow-up.

Communicate promptly with school staff about student or classroom concerns.

Qualifications Ability to manage a classroom and build positive, professional relationships with middle and high school students.Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and reliability.Experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or another role working with youth preferred.Ability to complete required pre-employment screening.

Schedule: As needed during the school day Compensation: $120 per day worked, paid on the 15th and 30th of each month.
