Middle School Teacher

Position Overview Hargrave is seeking a Middle School Teacher to join our academic faculty.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and mentoring middle school students, possess strong instructional and classroom management skills, and embrace the unique opportunities of working in an all-boys military boarding school environment.

Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, effective, and developmentally appropriate instruction for middle school students.Ability to teach across subject areas, such as math and science or English and history, or to teach a primary subject while developing and leading creative electives.Develop and implement lesson plans that align with standards and support diverse learning styles and abilities.Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and productive classroom environment.Assess student progress through a variety of instructional and evaluation methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.Provide individualized instruction and academic support to students, including one-on-one assistance and designated study hall as assigned.Collaborate with fellow faculty, Academy leadership, and staff.Communicate effectively and regularly with students, parents, and within the general Academy community as appropriate.Serve as a positive role model and mentor, reinforcing Hargrave standards and expectations.Participate in Hargrave's boarding school duty program, which includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities, such as study hall supervision and student activity chaperoning.
