Job Summary

Ash Grove is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician III to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment throughout our cement manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role supporting equipment such as conveyors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mills, kilns, fans, bearings, and other heavy plant machinery.

Job Location



* This role will work on-site at our Sumterville, FL plant.

Job Responsibilities



* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, fans, mills, kilns, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


* Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs to minimize equipment downtime and support production.


* Perform precision alignment using dial indicators, lasers, and other measurement tools.


* Inspect, repair, and replace bearings, belts, chains, seals, valves, gauges, couplings, and related components.


* Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, rigging, and basic machinist work as needed.


* Read and work from blueprints, equipment drawings, prints, and sketches.


* Assist with plant outages, special projects, and contractor activities.


* Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and support continuous improvement efforts.


* Operate mobile equipment and maintain assigned maintenance areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.


* Respond to production maintenance calls while consistently following all plant safety and spill-control procedures.

Job Requirements



* High school diploma or equivalent required.


* 5+ years of mechanical or industrial maintenance experience preferred.


* Millwright or Industrial Maintenance apprenticeship/certification preferred.


* Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, alignment, and rotating equipment.


* Welding, cutting, fabrication, and rigging experience preferred.


* Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, equipment instructions, and safety documentation.


* Basic computer skills; experience with maintenance systems such as Maximo or Intelex is a plus.


* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify the root cause of mechanical failures.
