Intern - Business Analyst/ Supply Chain

Responsibilities

Altec in Duluth, MN is seeking a Supply Chain / Business Analyst Intern to support the Materials team.

This position provides hands-on experience across supply chain, purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing operations while giving opportunities to lead meaningful projects and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is interested in learning how supply chain decisions impact a manufacturing operation and is comfortable working both with data and alongside cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities


* Support the Materials team with daily purchasing, inventory, and supply chain activities.


* Assist Buyers with purchase order management, supplier communication, order status, and expediting materials to support production requirements.


* Analyze inventory, shortages, supplier performance, purchasing activity, and other supply chain data to identify opportunities for improvement.


* Complete assigned projects related to areas such as inventory optimization, freight and cost reduction, material flow, supplier performance, excess inventory, or process improvement.


* Develop and maintain reports and analytical tools using Microsoft Excel and other business systems.


* Work with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse, Production, and other teams to understand and improve Materials processes.


* Assist with problem solving related to material availability and production requirements.


* Learn and utilize ERP, reporting, and analytical tools used by the Materials team.


* Support other Materials and Supply Chain initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications:


* Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Business Analytics, Operations, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.


* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and an interest in working with data.


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


* Ability to communicate effectively and work with a variety of teams.


* Organized and able to balance day-to-day responsibilities with longer-term projects.


* Willingness and ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes.


* Previous supply chain, manufacturing, data analysis, or business experience is beneficial but not required.


* Able to provide documentation stating that they are enrolled full-time in a college or university and in good standing.


* At least 18 years of age.


* Have completed a minimum of 24 hours of coursework or have earned sophomore class standing.


* Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
