West Elk Mine - Salaried - Production Supervisor

Position Summary

 

Responsible for all underground activities related to the production of coal at West Elk Mine.  This includes CM Development, Longwall Operations, and Outby construction activities.  Supervises and provides direction to Shift Coordinators, Longwall Coordinator, and Project Coordinator.  Responsible for compliance with Mountain Coal Company, L.

Environmental Health and Safety, MSHA rules and regulations and other governmental regulations.

 

Target Responsibilities

 
1.

Develop and monitor training programs for supervisors in productivity and safety.
2.

Coordinates mine planning related to safety, compliance, continuous mining development and retreat, long wall mining, and outby projects.
3.

Coordinates production projects with manpower and supplies for operational activities.
4.

Ensures all health and safety programs and standards are being adhered to in areas of responsibilities and promote BBS.
5.

Participates in and supports cost reduction plans and process improvement activities.
6.

Sets expectations for subordinates, manages performance, absenteeism and conducts performance evaluations.
7.

Work with other departments to ensure that all safety and timing goals are meet.
8.

Develop underground mine budget.
9.

Act as liaison between West Elk Mine and Underground Contractors.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 
10.

Minimum of ten (10) years of all phases of underground coal mining operations.
11.

Must have Colorado Mine Forman’s and Electrical Certification, or be able to obtain at earliest testing.
12.

A BS Degree in Mining Engineering is preferred.
13.

Previous supervisory experience at a Coordinator Level is preferred.
14.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation and Benefits

Pay rate: Salaried Non-Exempt (EX) 08| $95,518 - $143,279 annually
