Process Engineer

WHAT WE NEED: Process Engineer The Process Engineer will support one of Sigmas clients onsite in Geismar, Louisiana, three days per week, with the remaining time in Sigmas Baton Rouge office.

This position requires a strong process engineering background with experience working with Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs).

The Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting, evaluating, and improving process systems to enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.

This role will work closely with client personnel, engineering teams, operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and support process-related projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities: Provide process engineering support at the client site in Geismar, Louisiana.

Perform and support PSV-related engineering activities, including evaluation, documentation, and technical support associated with pressure relief systems.

Apply extensive knowledge of PSVs and pressure relief systems to support safe and reliable plant operations.

Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and increased reliability.

Collect, review, and interpret process and operating data to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.

Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting process issues and resolving technical challenges.

Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to address process and equipment-related issues.

Ensure engineering work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, client requirements, and regulations.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure effective coordination and execution of project activities.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders as needed to support project deliverables.

Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, reduce costs, and enhance plant reliability and performance.

Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including engineering calculations, reports, procedures, and project records.

Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings, project progress, process concerns, and recommendations.

Participate in the development and implementation of engineering standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.

Work closely with engineers, designers, operations personnel, and other stakeholders to provide technical guidance and process engineering expertise.

WHO WE NEED: Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering field.

2-5+ years of process engineering experience, preferably within a petrochemical, chemical, refining, fertilizer, or similar industrial environment.

Strong hands-on experience with Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) and pressure relief systems is required.
