Pre-Construction Engineer

Pre-Construction Engineer Responsibilities: Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors, general contractors, owners, and subcontractors.Review engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope requirements, bid qualifications, and clarifications.Perform detailed material takeoffs and prepare accurate bid packages.Analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing and negotiate cost reductions where appropriate.Generate and manage subcontractor bidder lists to ensure full scope coverage.Ensure proper scope inclusion and bidder coverage throughout the bidding phase.Identify technical, scope, and execution risks and opportunities and communicate findings to project stakeholders.Prepare and present engineering-informed cost estimates and budget information as needed.Develop project estimates in alignment with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and approved design assumptions to support accurate pricing and executable project scopes.Collaborate with Engineering leadership, Sales, and Customer Service teams to improve estimating and bidding processes.Assist customers and prospective customers with product and service inquiries and recommend appropriate solutions.Forecast project costs by evaluating current and future economic conditions that may affect pricing.Prepare accurate sales activity, forecasting, and expense-tracking reports.Participate in sales meetings, workshops, training sessions, and professional organizations.Maintain and expand technical, product, financial, and sales knowledge.
