Position Summary

The Admissions Assistant plays a key role in supporting the admissions department and ensuring a smooth transition for incoming residents.

This position serves as a liaison between hospitals, referral sources, families, and facility staff while assisting with admissions coordination, documentation, customer service, and census development efforts.

Essential Responsibilities


* Assist with the admissions process from referral through resident admission


* Communicate professionally with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, families, and referral sources


* Maintain accurate admissions records and documentation


* Verify and collect required admission information


* Support tours for prospective residents and families


* Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries regarding services and availability


* Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes


* Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth resident transitions


* Track referral activity and admissions data


* Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up communication

Qualifications


* Previous administrative, admissions, healthcare, customer service, or sales experience preferred


* Skilled in communication, organization, and multitasking


* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications


* Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment


* Professional, compassionate, and customer-focused demeanor


* Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, healthcare admissions, or medical office settings is a plus
