Data Scientist II-POTFF

The Data Scientist II supports the United States Special Operations Command Preservation of the Force and Family (USSOCOM POTFF) program by identifying and implementing innovative, high-value solutions across the Special Operations Forces (SOF) enterprise.

This role applies advanced analytics and research methods to help improve the short- and long-term well-being of SOF service members and their families.

Candidates must be located near, or willing to self-relocate to, one or more of the following locations:

Camp Lejeune, NC

Coronado, CA

Fort Bragg, NC

Hurlburt Field, FL

Clovis, NM

U.S.

Candidates must possess an active U.S.

Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with huge data sets.

- Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning (both supervised and unsupervised) to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.

- Work side-by-side with product managers, software engineers, and designers in designing experiments and minimum viable products.

- Discover data sources, get access to them, import them, clean them up, and make them “model-ready."

- Create and refine features from the underlying data.
