Tool & Die Manager

Oversees tool room and machining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.

Supervises machinists, tool makers, and apprentices while driving continuous improvement, process compliance, and skill development.

Ensures completion of dies, fixtures, and machining jobs to meet quality and schedule requirements.

Reports To Plant Manager Direct Reports Machinists, Tool Makers, Apprentices Key Responsibilities - Supervise tool room activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.- Plan labor and coordinate schedules to meet production goals.- Approve die and fixture designs and maintain accurate CAD documentation.- Maintain clear identification and storage of tools, fixtures, and materials.- Manage preventative maintenance for all department tools and machines.- Collaborate with engineers, production, and purchasing to resolve issues and improve processes.- Recommend equipment upgrades and oversee subcontracted work as needed.- Support apprenticeship training and evaluate employee development.- Use ERP systems to manage jobs, materials, and bills of material.- Provide cost estimates for new or modified tooling projects.
