Mechanic

Mechanic - What Will You Do?


* Perform basic preventative maintenance by changing oil, checking fluid levels, replacing filters and greasing moving machine parts on heavy equipment and/or trucks.


* Run diagnostic tests using computer software to identify mechanical and electrical issues. 


* Follow maintenance checklists, handle hand and power tools safely, and complete work order documentation per department procedure.


* Participate in repairing, rebuilding, or replacing parts like brakes, transmissions, clutches and suspension systems under direct supervision 50% of the time. 


* Perform basic welding and torching as needed for repairs. 


* Operate equipment after repairs to ensure the issue has been properly resolved.

 


* Read/comprehend technical manuals and computer schematics.


* Maintain and clean shop area and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and useable condition.


* Adhere to company work safety policies. 


* May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements - Who We Are Looking For?


* High School Diploma or GED 


* One year of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic is preferred. 


* Must possess a current PA Forklift Certification or obtain certification within the 90-day introductory period through NESL’s certification program.


* Must have certified completion of 80 hours of third-party manufacturer-specific training related to heavy-duty equipment and/or diesel mechanics. 


* Must have minimum of a valid standard Class C driver’s license with a Medical Card certification.

Must be compliant with NESL Driving Standards.


* Truck Mechanics must have PA Category 3 State Inspection License.
