We are actively seeking talented individuals to join Conrad Yelvington Distributors for an internship opportunity to receive training and mentoring in the Equipment/Locomotive Department.

The Internship Program offers students a valuable opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience while supporting the company's ongoing commitment to excellence in locomotive equipment performance and safety.

This role will focus on the mechanical components of our operations, providing direct exposure to maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the Central market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



* Work under the direction of the CYD Locomotive Equipment Manager to understand different principal components



* Assist in maintaining a high level of safety compliance and awareness at all times.



* Interact and collaborate with other locomotive mechanics to ensure expert input, guidance and consistency to resolving mechanical issues.



* Ability to research regulations and industry best practices to help the team work toward solutions.



* Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and professionals in the business units.


* Must be willing to work out of town with possible overnight stays when deemed necessary.

Requirements



* Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate degree program preferably in Environmental Health and Safety or similar major.



* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.



* Experience and proficiency using the internet and Microsoft Office Suite of products.



* Strong desire to work in the industry.
