MAs with AMI provide essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and patients, helping ensure efficient, high-quality care.

Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members, departments, and directorates to support the HOME PORT model and maintain a safe, orderly environmentActively participate in team huddles and promote effective communication with staff, patients, families, and other departmentsPrepare for patient visits by reviewing provider schedules, screening patients per clinic protocol, and completing necessary forms, including during EHR outagesUtilize automated systems and IT tools (e.g., MHS Genesis, CarePoint, Secure Messaging) to enhance patient experience and update health dataPerform data entry for population health metrics and health promotionAssist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and preparing patient correspondenceSupport orientation of new personnel as assigned Requirements: US citizenHigh school diploma or equivalent.Be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), OR the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists, OR a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, OR other formal program approved by the MTF.Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years.Active BLS certificationMust be eligible to work in a federal facility and pass background checks as required.Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process.
