Survey Technician

What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Survey Team in Columbia, SC.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working outdoors, collecting survey data, researching property records, and supporting a variety of land surveying projects.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team while gaining valuable field and office experience in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:


* Conduct fieldwork in accordance with project requirements and established survey procedures.


* Collect survey data and assist with survey layout and measurements.


* Research survey evidence including deeds, plats, maps, physical monuments, and public records.


* Assist with establishing and reestablishing survey control using accepted surveying methods.


* Maintain accurate field notes and documentation of work performed.


* Support survey crews and project teams to ensure quality project delivery.


* Travel to project sites as needed.


* Work collaboratively with team members while adhering to safety and quality standards.

What You Need to Succeed:


* High School Diploma or GED required.


* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field preferred.


* Valid driver's license required.


* One (1) or more years of related surveying experience.


* Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.


* Familiarity with Trimble survey equipment preferred.


* Ability and willingness to travel and work locally on a regular basis.


* Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00 per hour.

This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
