Job Summary

The Purchasing Agent is an on-site position located in Downers Grove, Illinois, at the CITGO Refinery Support Center.

This role provides procurement support for assigned locations in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and business objectives.

Responsible for the creation, administration, and maintenance of purchase orders, outline agreements, and other procurement contracts.

Utilize strategic sourcing tools and industry best practices to identify, evaluate, qualify, solicit, negotiate, and manage suppliers to obtain materials and services that deliver the best overall value to CITGO while meeting safety, quality, reliability, cost, and delivery requirements.

Establish and maintain vendor records within SAP, foster effective supplier relationships, support competitive sourcing initiatives, and conduct market and industry research to identify sourcing opportunities, mitigate supply risk, and support informed procurement decisions.

Expected Salary Range: $88,000 - $120,000

Minimum Qualifications



* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field and four years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, contract administration, or related experience.


* Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial terms, pricing, and supplier agreements.


* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


* Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external suppliers.


* Proficiency in SAP or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.


* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and contract administration capabilities.
