Production Planner

Molex is seeking a Production Planner for our South Grafton, MA facility.

This role is responsible for production scheduling, material requirements planning, and inventory coordination to support customer demand while optimizing manufacturing capacity, delivery performance, and inventory levels.

The ideal candidate has strong SAP experience, understands manufacturing planning processes, and can translate customer demand and material availability into achievable production schedules.

We work closely across Operations, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Engineering, and Sales to ensure customer commitments are met while driving operational excellence.

What You Will Do


* Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer demand while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.


* Plan raw material and component requirements and communicate shortages and replenishment needs to the Purchasing team.


* Utilize SAP (MRP/ERP) to review demand, material availability, inventory, production orders, and production schedules.


* Review MRP recommendations, identify material constraints, and create or adjust production orders and schedules.


* Coordinate with Purchasing to confirm material availability and escalate shortages that may affect production schedules.


* Analyze inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize shortages and excess inventory.


* Work closely with Production, Customer Service, Engineering, and Sales to balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity.


* Monitor production order progress, identify delays, and coordinate recovery plans with Operations and Customer Service.


* Monitor schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery; identify opportunities to improve planning effectiveness.


* Maintain accurate planning parameters, including production lead times, lot sizes, and scheduling assumptions in SAP.


* Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and potential delivery risks to cross-functional teams.


* Publish and monitor production planning KPIs, including schedule adherence, backlog, and on-time delivery.


* Continuously improve production planning and scheduling processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.


* Support Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO, Environmental, and EH&S systems by following established policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Minimum five (5) years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.


* Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and material requirements planning.
