Healthcare Operations Manager

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives.

From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability.

Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey-before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.

Work you'll do

As a Manager, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation on the Operations Transformation team, you will:

Lead the analysis of hospital performance and utilization data to provide state and health system clients with clear, actionable insights under the Rural Health Transformation Program.

This role serves as the operational backbone of engagement teams, translating complex payer, cost report, and utilization data into findings that identify viable interventions for rural hospitals.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience analyzing hospital financials and utilization patterns across commercial and government payer types.

Role responsibilities include:
• Analyze hospital cost reports, audited financial statements, and payer mix data to assess financial performance and viability
• Interpret utilization, catchment, and migration data to identify service line and market dynamics affecting rural hospitals
• Identify and evaluate the financial levers available to hospitals (e.g., service line changes, staffing models, payer contracting) and assess their potential impact
• Translate complex data analysis into clear, client-ready insights and recommendations
• Manage day-to-day delivery of operational and financial analysis workstreams, overseeing supporting analysts
• Work with project leadership to shape recommendations for client presentations and program design
• Identify and flag data quality issues or gaps that could affect the reliability of findings
