We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist/ Electrician to join our team on our team in Waimea, Kauai.

The Maintenance Specialist/ Electrician role will perform all electrical tasks with general supervision, possesses Journeyman license, can read blueprints, terminate cable, install and troubleshoot control wiring from drawing, is able to demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper and must be sufficient on rough-in work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install feeders.
  • Wire and conduit sizing.
  • Switchgear and device installation and termination.
  • Layout and preparation for installation.
  • Underground layout and rough-in.
  • Motors and controls—troubleshooting.
  • Possesses skills of lower job titles (Apprentice Electrician).
  • Fully comprehends electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code.
  • Train Apprentice Electricians in National Electric Code, as well as Safety and Company Practices.

What You Need:

LICENSES: Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record per the Company’s insurance; possesses own transportation.

ELECTRICAL: Current Journeyman

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years of previous electrical experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, rain, etc.)
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Potties).
  • Job requires employees to always have tools with them (waist tool belt as work weighs approximately 30 pounds).
  • Works from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 12 ft, A-frame ladders, and all sizes of extension ladders, and carry and relocate up to 12 ft.

  • Employee’s personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class 1-250 lbs., Class 1A-300 lbs.)
  • Perform work at various heights (up to 20ft.) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts,
  • Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required).
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required.

SKILLS:
