In-person IT New Hire Orientation Technician

The In-person IT New Hire Orientation Technician will work with Training Subject Matter Experts, prepare equipment, create accounts, and provide data access for new hire orientation classes based on information in the system access forms.

Assist with and/or participate in new hire orientation classes.

Provide technical support before, during and after new hire orientation classes.

This position requires two to five years of IT support/Help Desk experience in a user-oriented environment, a strong understanding of a wide variety of personal computing equipment, computer software applications and networking equipment.

* Associate degree or equivalent experience


* Travel required as needed

 

Essential Functions


* Configure user equipment, set up user accounts and provide data access for new hires based on information in their system access form.


* Assist and participate in new hire classes


* Performs diagnostic tests, modifies or repairs hardware to the board or component level.


* Works with users to evaluate and solve technical issues, by phone or onsite before, during and after new hire classes.


* Establishes and maintains a parts inventory for personal computers, as well as other supplies and computer center-related materials.


* Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes.


* Maintains a lot of completed work using an incident-tracking application.


* Produces support documentation.


* Plans, initiates and completes various projects as assigned by the IT Manager, complete all assigned tasks and meets all job-related responsibilities with limited supervision.


* Works with various departments to continually improve efficiency and workflows using new technologies.


* Other duties assigned by the IT Manager as required.
