Job Summary

The Information Security Analyst I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the organization’s cybersecurity operations.

This position focuses on monitoring security systems, analyzing alerts, assisting with incident response, and helping maintain the organization’s overall security posture.

The analyst works closely with senior team members to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience in security operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring & Analysis



* Monitor security tools for example: —--------- for suspicious activity.


* Triage alerts and escalate potential incidents to senior analysts.


* Perform initial investigation and documentation of security events.


* Creating tickets for the PMO/Dev teams to remediate vulnerabilities.

Incident Response Support


* Assist in responding to security incidents, including containment and remediation activities.


* Collect and preserve evidence for analysis.


* Help document incident reports and lessons learned.

Vulnerability Management


* Support vulnerability scanning and tracking remediation efforts.


* Validate fixes and assist with the reporting on risk levels.

Access & Identity Support


* Assist with User Access reviews and identity/access management tasks.


* Monitor for unusual account activity or privilege escalation.

Compliance & Documentation


* Help maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation


* Support audits and compliance initiatives aligned with standards such as:  ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and SOC2

Security Awareness


* Support employee security awareness initiatives (e.g.

phishing simulations, training, campaigns)


* Help track participation and effectiveness metrics.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience



* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science or related, or equivalent training/certifications.


* 0-2 years experience in IT, cyber security, or related fields (internships count)


* Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principals.


* CompTIA Security Cert a Plus
