Assistant Director of International and Special Programs

About the Role
This is a shared position supporting both the Office of International Programs (OIP) and the Office of Special Programs and Administration at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
The Office of International Programs provides strategic direction, operational excellence, and visibility for all internationalization efforts of Stevens Institute of Technology.
These include education abroad, international partnerships and exchanges, co-curricular programming, and research abroad.
The Office of Special Programs oversees the operations of the Pinnacle Scholars and Clark Scholars Programs.
This is a predominantly student-facing position that will provide administrative coordination and student support to both offices with significant overlap between the two.
Responsibilities
Programming and Events Management
* Develop and execute an annual events calendar for the Office of International Programs, including annual Study Abroad Fair, International Exchange Student Orientations, weekly information sessions and pre-departure and return events for study abroad students.
* Coordinate university-wide International Education Month planning committee
* Coordinate the OIP’s Global Student Ambassadors Program
* Assist in developing and executing an annual events calendar for the Clark Scholars and Pinnacle Scholars programs, including Pre-Orientation, Networking Day, workshops and graduation-related events
* Represent the Office of International Programs at Prospective and Admitted Students Days
* Support campus visits from current and prospective international partner universities
Advising, Presenting, and Teaching
* Serve as a Study Abroad advisor, assisting students throughout the study abroad process from inquiry through return
* Represent the OIP office through regular presentations to current students, prospective students, and families
* Serve on internal study abroad scholarship review committees
* Deliver classroom presentations to Pinnacle and Clark Scholars on study abroad and stipend policies
* Advise the Pinnacle and Clark programs’ student-led events committees, providing administrative support and training in event planning guidelines and financial management
* Review and give feedback on the International Opportunities Reflection Assignments, following up with students and adjusting stipend eligibility as needed
* Co-facilitate the Clark service-learning seminar in the spring, arrange off-campus volunteer opportunities and on-campus guest speakers, prepare course materials, and review student assignments
Budgets and Financial Processing
* Oversee the Pinnacle Cultural Passport and Clark Cultural Passport budgets, including submitting invoices, tracking expenditures, and liaising with vendors and the Finance Office
* Manage transit requests and purchase public transit tickets/cards for Pinnacle and Clark events
